  • Any construction in a commercial zone, regardless of proposed use, will need to undergo new commercial construction review.

  • Demolition in a commercial zone will also need to be reviewed. Depending on the location, additional review may be necessary.

  • If a proposed use is not permitted by municipal code, you may apply for a conditional use permit.

  • A rezone may allow additional uses on a property. For example, a property that has been operating as a B&B in a residential zone might benefit by rezoning to C-3, quiet commercial.

  • Only 12 square feet of signage is permitted by code. If you plan to have more signs or a larger sign, you’ll need to apply for a sign variance.

  • If your tree removal permit has been denied due to the number or size of trees, you may file a tree removal appeal.

  • A zoning variance may allow for a deviation from municipal code for setbacks, building height, lot size, parking requirements, and more.
